How to Manage iOS Voice Memos and Ringtones on Windows

Using iTunes to manage your voice memo ringtone has a great risk to mess up your iTunes Library if you don’t follow the official instruction properly, and that long-winded tale always asks you to pay more patience to sit through.

You are allowed to batch process the downloading and deletion of voice memos.

1. Connect your iDevice to the computer with a cable and launch DearMob iPhone Manager.
2. Click Voice on the main UI for the voice memos management. Select the memos you want to export, and click Export on the top to download to your computer.
3. Tick the memos you want to remove, and click Delete Voice Memos. Then hit Sync on the bottom-right corner of the window to synchronize the deletion to your device.

Tips:

  • Click Refresh to get real-time voice memos of your iPhone.
  • Click Select All on the top-left corner of the window to manage all memos in one take.
  • You are suggested to change a new location for your exported memos, otherwise, all files will be stored in driver C by default.
  • You can click the red bent-arrow (the end of a voice memo) to undo deleting or click Cancel (next to the Sync button at the bottom) to revoke all deletions.

To transfer, add and delete your iPhone, iPad, or iPod ringtones on your Windows PC

1. Connect your iDevice to the computer with a cable before and launch DearMob iPhone Manager.
2. Click Voice on the main UI for the ringtone management. Select the ringtone(s) and click Export to transfer to computer.
3. To add ringtone to your device, just click Add Ringtone on the top, select the file(s)/folder(s) from your computer and hit Sync on the bottom-right corner to transfer ringtone(s) to your device.
4. Tick the ringtone you want to remove, and click Delete Ringtone on the top. Then hit Sync on the bottom-right to synchronize the deletion to your device.

Tips:

  • If you want to customize your own ringtone, click Ringtone Maker on the top right corner of the window to start editing.

How difficult to manage voice memos and ringtone in iTunes on Windows PC

Before you begin using iTunes to transfer/backup photos on your iOS/iPadOS device, you have to do the following things:

  • Update your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to the latest version of iOS.
  • Update your Windows PC to the latest version of Windows 10.
  • Ensure that your entire iOS/iPadOS device are using the same Apple ID.
  • Update iTunes software on your Windows PC.

Warning:

  • iTunes Library may be overwritten by wrong steps if you do not follow the guide carefully.
  • If you are transferring your voice memos to a public computer, erase the data before leaving, or your privacy might be leaked out.

Transfer voice memos to a Windows PC with iTunes

1. Connect your iDevice to your PC with a cable.
2. Launch iTunes if it doesn’t open automatically. After a moment, the Device button will show up in iTunes (near the top-left corner of the window).
3. Click the Device button, then click Music in the sidebar.
4. Tick the box of Sync Music and select Include voice memos.
5. Click Apply in the bottom right corner of the window, and voice memos will transfer to your computer.
6. You can find your voice memos on your Windows PC in this folder: C:\Users\your name\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Voice Memos.

Add a new ringtone to your iPhone with iTunes

1. Connect your iDevice to your PC with a cable.
2. Launch iTunes if it doesn’t open automatically, and choose a preferred song in iTunes Library.
3. Right-click or Ctrl-click to call out a drop-down menu.
4. Click Song Info and click the Option tab to set up the start time and end time of the song. Make sure the song you set is less or equal to 30 seconds, or you won’t import the song to your iPhone.
5. Select the song, click File on the top-left of the windows, hover over Convert and click Create AAC Version.
6. Highlight that duplicate M4A file and right-click, and click Show in Windows Explorer in the drop-down menu.
7. Rename the file type of the song from M4A to M4R.
8. Click the Device button in the iTunes (near the top-left corner of the window), then click Tones in the sidebar.
9. Drag and drop you prepared ringtone to the Tones.
10. Go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Ringtone on the mobile to change a new ringtone.
